Why the Home Inspection Franchise is a great Opportunity

I’ve talked previously about franchising your business, some marketing and franchise consulting. I wanted to write a little bit about some different, specific franchises in detail. One that has been a fairly low key, yet low cost and very good is the home inspection business. There are many home inspection franchises for sale in North America, including WIN Home Inspection, AmeriSpec Home Inspection Services, A-Pro Home Inspection Services, BrickKicker Home Inspection, HouseMaster and many more. The common theme to this business and industry is that these franchises are very low cost to setup. Nearly all of the home inspection franchise businesses I have seen for sale all require less then $100,000 total initial investment.

The Home Inspection Business is a good Franchise to get in to.

There are many reasons why the Home Inspection services are good to get into. This business is one of the fastest growing service businesses today, primarily due to the changes in the real estate market and the rising cost of homes. If you don’t already know, the real estate market today is kinda crap. Higher cost of homes, less home buyers and a tighter market. Banks are also not lending out money like they used to and are trying to reduce their risk by tightening the rules on mortgage loans. Many banks today also require a home inspection to be completed prior to any mortgage consideration. Not only that, the buyers themselves are spending more and with a minimal cost to have a house fully inspected by a certified professional bring them a little piece of mind and assurance that their purchase is a sound investment.

Being a Home Inspector is a fulfilling career as well. You are selling a service that presents a winning scenario for your clients. A home buyer that spends the nominal inspection fee is going to get a detailed report on the condition and potential problems of a home. With that information, the buyer can make a very informed decisions on the purchase of a home. If they decide to buy, then they know what they are getting into for current or future repairs and many offer a different price for the purchase based on that information as well. They may also decide not to buy the home in the end too. This often happens when the home inspection finds serious problems with the home that requires costly repairs. Without the home inspection the buyer may never have known the problem until it was too late, saving the buyer a great deal of money and problems.

Why buy a Home Inspection Franchise?

The reasons to buy a franchise in any industry are relatively the same. The primary reason is that business entrepreneurs and new business owners what to get into a business and ownership but want to reduce the risk involved with starting a new business from the ground up. If you have or not, starting a new business is a difficult journey, there are lots of growing pains, so to speak.

Buying any franchise in any industry makes the franchisee part of a larger network and larger organization. This business franchise network is the support and framework that is used to build a new franchise. A home inspection franchise is no different. You can build the business on a proven framework, and in this industry, you can franchise in nearly any city and area you want. The real estate market is a wide spread market, there is a need for home inspectors in every area of the country, which is probably why there are several different home inspection franchises for sale in every state.

What do you do in a Home Inspection?

If you have ever purchased a home and gotten a home inspection, you will probably already know this. A great way to learn is to go through the home with you home inspector when they do the actual inspection. If you have the time and extra money, have an inspection done on your own home now. You might learn a few things about your home and learn a little on what is involved in doing a home inspection, if you decided to get into the business and do it for yourself.

Basically, a home inspection is a summary and report on the property. This is usually related to a residential home. Commercial and Business inspections are a little different. This reports explains all the checks completed on the home and will point out any building code violations or failures that need attention prior to the sale or purchase of the home. Knowing the current building codes is a requirement of the home inspector. The report also identifies any possible future problems, such as abnormal, or normal wear on different parts of the house, both structurally and cosmetic. A quality inspection will cover the roof, foundations, basement, walls, windows, electrical, plumbing, gas appliance and fittings, heat, ventilation, water, attic, grade, and a lot more.

A home inspection is a detailed view of your or a home you or someone is considering to buy. It is an essential part of the buying and selling process and is a business that will always be in demand. A home inspection business is a very low cost franchise and good industry to get into.
